The first writer selected to begin the writing residency series is Négresse Colas for her novel project “De sang et de lait” (provisional title)
Why? The winner explains: “Because we have to put the spotlight on situations that are talked about too little but which disturb and kill little by little. It is a novel project that aims to point out the taboo about the postpartum period, […] the superstition that surrounds women with serious mental illness and the dangers they are exposed to in the street . The trivialization of mental illness, the lack of care space. »
Négresse Colas is in residence at the Center Pen Haiti from February 2 to March 01, 2022.
The residency is part of the Human Rights and Women's Perspectives program benefiting from the support of the #piscaa fund of the French Embassy in Haiti and the technical support of @umanum_art.
